As promised

Here is a photo of my 'bling' i still dont have my camera so i had to try my best with my phone.

Isnt it just so cute, shame everything else seems to be going like crap today.

AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG!!!!! i have most of my wedding attire and so this morning decided to try it all on, and as my mom went to lace it up the top loop broke! It just snapped, it wasnt even pulled slightly tight, i dont get it.

Then when i took it off and put it in the XXL dress bag i bought, it split, right up the zipper, the dress came in a suit bag that split so i ordered an XXL because it was supposed to be for ballgowns.

I cant believe it, i dont even know if you can get the loops replaced or where to get it done. Maybe this is my punishment for trying to get everything done well in advance to lower the stress closer to the time, if i cant get the loop fixed i dont know what im going to do, i doubt i will be able to get another dress for the great bargain i got this one.

Third and final post of today.....Har.

My bridal 'do' is the one thing i have been bothered about lately but it is something i cant really sort out as i stupidly cut off my hair so i have been trying things out as best i can, this time i decided i wasnt going to put in my extensions just see what i could do with it the way it is so i searched you tube for tutorials on easy wedding hair styles and i found one whcih seemed quite easy and could be done on most lengths of hair so i tried it.
  • Brush hair and part to the side.
  • Section off the front section of each side.
  • Place hair into half up half down and place the bottom section into a band too.
  • Section off the 'poines' in to small sections.
  • Twist each section round the fingers and pin against the head.
  • Continue for both of the 'ponies'.
  • Take the front sections and arrange to the sides and secure with pins.
  • Set the do with hairspray.

Post 2 of today.....bling

Well it is my birthday in 3 weeks and me and the MR went looking for my b'day gift, i did want a watch from debenhams (with all the things i have been buying from their lately i should move in lol) they have the watches in 4 colours, lilac, pink, lemon and green and i couldnt decided which one i wanted so i wanted all 4, well the other day i treated myself to the lilac one and when we went to look at the others the mr said do i really need more than one watch and i said well what would he be getting me instead and he said we could have a look round so we went to look at this table which was filed with 'bling' on sale so we had a look and i was thinking something purple to go with my colour scheme but then came across this really cute bracelet with dark and light blue gems, so pretty, then the MR said that dont i need a 'something blue', so i said that was a great idea so that was part of my gift. The picture is not the best but i will take a better one when i can get hold of my camera.

Bridesmaids

Well i previously blogged about the bridesmaids dresses and i had picked the long dark purple dress that my MOH had tried on as it had the gathered waist line which was really flattering on any body type so i asked if my other bridesmaid was free to test the dress to see if it was any good on a bigger girl, (not that she is huge or nothing she was in the size 18 but at the moment is losing weight). She tried on the dress and even at her size it was so pretty. I thought there would be a problem with the length as she is arounf 5ft 10 which is a bit taller than my MOH and wondered if it was going to be a little bit too short, but even though it was about and inch off the floor it was still ok , and with the shoes on it wont be that bad. I asked my brother what size she was aiming for as if i have to get the dresses well in advance i dont want to get one that is either going to be way too big to be taken in or for her to feel pressured to lose a lot of weight if she cant manage it, he said she wants to become a size 12 but on her frame i think that would be a little bit too small so i am thinking of getting the size 14 as that is only 2 dress sizes down and my MOH is just in between a 12 and 14 right now but doesnt really want to get any smaller than a 12 so i can get hers in the 12 and be safe that it is a weight she is comfortable with and she finds its not too hard to stay around that size.

As you can see the difference in length between the BM's dress (left) and the MOH's dress (right)

After she tried on the dress i sent a message to MOH to see if she could pop into the shop and try on the shoes as they dont have a size 6.5 so i needed to know if the 6 or the 7 was the best, she let me know the next day that the 6 fitted ok so i went in and picked up a 6 and an 8 which is for my other BM. I didnt mention but i decided they arent going to wear the exact same shoes as me as the dresses are a little bid dark but the same shoe comes in a midnight blue which has a purple tint to them and went really well with the dresses so we all have the same shoes but i have a bright purple. i will show a picture of the shoes when i have taken a picture as the one on debenhams site shows them as a navy blue but they dont look like that in person.

The bridesmaids dresses

Me and the MOH went shopping today and decided to look for dresses in debenhams and after looking round we chose 5 dresses to try on, and this is what we found.

This one was the one i recently posted about, it doesn't look quite like it does on the site as it shows it was supposed to have a bit of the underskirt on show just below but it doesn't, it was pretty though.

Then there was this one that was so cute it had a little bit of a pleated fold underneath that shows out at the bottom, it was really nice but i also had to think of my other bridesmaid as she is taller and a bigger size than my MOH.
We decided to look at a few black ones to see if they were and good and these were so pretty but the biggest we could find was a size 14 so that would be no good for the other bridesmaid.

Then we came to this awesome dress i thought it was going to be a little bit to dark but i think it was perfect and it goes up to big size too so that would work for the other BM, this one was £130 each and as it comes to the floor they can wear the same shoes that i have. i couldn't fault this dress at all, i am just hoping they have these in store next year, before then i need to get the BM to come and try one on too.

Yesterday i decided i would pop in my old hair extensions and just see what my hair could look like when it grows again and just to see what it would look like with my barrette and tiara and this is what i got. (note my hair was a little bit on the greasy side so i couldn't get the lift i wanted on top so just twisted it round to the back.)

How much cake???????!!!!!!!!!!!

I cant believe what i have just read. Me and my mom were looking on cake sites for inspiration and came across portion size and it says from a 12" square cake is supposed to give 144 servings!!! that is a 1"square piece of cake. I'm sure when it comes to serving my wedding cake people will be given a whole lot more cake than that, that's just mean, if that was the case and you only need enough cake for guests then i would only need a 10" square cake and still have some left over, we are making the cake mostly for show as i don't want one of those little cakes that make the bride and groom look like giants when they are stood next to it i wanted it to be a focal point, and the fact that we will be making it i don't want to put in all that effort for people not to be wowed by it so do expect a bigger piece of cake than a 1"square.

i cant wait now

As i recently posted that i went and bought my shoes, barrettea dn tiara and now i have bought my veil too, i cant wait for the veil to come then i can try it all on and try out some hair styles, this will have to be done using my old clip in extensions as i cut off my hair so now all i got is a bob.

Saturday 14 August 2010

i bought some wedding stuff.

Now I know I am still 25 months away but I just had to buy a few things while I had some spare money. so i was searching for shoes as i know this was going to be a horrible task as i have to go for flats and i didn't think i was going to find anything nice in a flat.........but i found some really cute purple pumps from debenhams so we popped in today and when i tried them on i could see myself wearing these so i bought them for just £12.

Then while i was at the checkout there were these girls looking at a diamond barrette but put it down so when they went to the next free checkout i picked it up and knew i wanted it, it was the last one, then the girls came back for it but, hehehe, it wasn't there, well they put it down so it was a free for all, lol.  the picture is a little bit dark as i am using my phone which doesn't have flash.

The other pain reason we went in there was so that i could pick out a tiara as it had to be the right one, so i tried on a few but as the shop was a little busy o only got my mom to take a picture of the one i wanted, i did plan on getting a similar one from eBay but after looking i didn't think they were as sparkly so i am going to go back tomorrow and pick this one up for around £40. (do mind the make-up free face, i had just got in from my run when my mom and dad said they were heading out so i didn't have time to put my face on or do my hair, and another note my hair will be longer then this in the picture)

Before leaving i went to look at the dress section so see if they had any new designs in and found these dresses, i know the girls would have preferred long dresses but there is no harm in trying them, they may actually look quite nice, i may even get them the same shoes as me just so that they match.

Seat covers.

I initially didn't think i was going to have seat covers as i wanted black ones and all the ones i found were £4+ per chair and i didn't really want to spend that much as that would be over £300 and that's just UN-necessary so i thought i would have a look around but if i couldn't find any then i wouldn't be too upset, well i came across a website called i do essentials and found they do black stretch covers with a purple sash and get this.....they cost £2 per chair including the sash!!!!!! awesome.....I emailed the lady back asking how far in advance i would need to book as it is now just over 25 months, and if the deposit would be 10%, if so that's just £16 deposit to pay which is awesome, the only thing is we would have to pick them up from Tamworth which isn't too far away then drop them off the next day but I'm sure i can find someone to help us with that. i wanted to go with the black as our room is very light and so it wouldn't look too dark and would match our black and purple theme. so i think £160 for 80 chair covers is a bargain.

bulging brides

Recently i have been watching a new program on tv called 'bulging brides' its about these ladies who buy their wedding dresses too small then have to diet and work out to fit in to it and it got me thinking that i really need to make sure i lose a few inches from my back, (my problem is that i have BIG boobs, so i need to work out and tone my back so that i can pull in the dress just about an inch and half so that i can snap shut the modesty pannel with out having over hang, and my arms need some major tone-age as they are minging, lol. i lost weight but was left with sagging in the 'bingo wing' area and when my arms are down you will see it sag at the elbow.

I dont want to be a bulging bride!!!!!

Friday 6 August 2010

ooooo pretty dress, lol.

A friend of mine went to her brothers wedding recently and i saw some pictures and her dress was really pretty, i thought it had been maybe a specially made one but when i asked she said they got them from monsoon and are £130 each which is not too bad i just love the fact that they have straps so my girls can wear a bra and be a little more comfortable. upon looking on the site i found they only have size 8's left......nither of my girls are a size 8 so i am going to have to keep a look out in monsoon to see when they have any other dresses similar to this.
